The Marina Bay Sands - Singapore

Located on the 57th floor, this is one of the world's highest and largest infinity pools. Only guests are allowed access to the pool area and the view, well, it's pretty good! Overlooking the Singaporean skyline, this swim is worthwhile both at day and night.

I went up in the lift in my bathrobe and slippers that the hotel provides and spent a good while swimming around and oggling at the view. One night there was a thunderstorm a few miles away, it was amazing to watch Mother Nature as this big electrical storm lit up the sky! You can also get food at drinks at the pool bar.

Tanjung Rhu Resort - Langkawi, Malaysia

This beautiful pool overlooks the clear waters of the Andaman Sea at the northern tip of Langkawi, along a 2.5km stretch of white-sand beach. With palm trees surrounding the pool and the view alone, this place is definitely one for this list to chill, relax or just read a good book!

Ayana Resort & Spa - Bali, Indonesia

This one is a bit of a cheat as it's technically 3 pools! The resort has 5 pools in total but 3 of these are the stand alone winners for me. The River Pool, Main Pool and Ocean Beach Pool are the perfect way to relax and unwind.

The Main Pool overlooks the ocean and is designed on 2 levels with an infinity edge. The River Pool is a secluded 2-tier river stone pool while the Ocean Beach Pool towers over Kisik beach with amazing views over the Balinese coastline. The only thing stopping from getting this pool(s) to the Number 1 spot is the Ocean Beach Pool is a saltwater pool - I always prefer freshwater personally!!

Thermae Bath Spa - Bath, England

One closer to home for me. No palm trees or beautiful beach but nonetheless spectacular. The Thermae Spa is Britain's only naturally warm, mineral-rich waters that you can bathe in, just as the Celts and Romans did over 2000 years ago. In the heart of the World Heritage Site, this place combines the best of the historic spa with contemporary design.

As well as the natural baths, the highlight for me is the amazing rooftop pool with views of the historic city, while you get to chill and relax in the warm natural waters. I've visited this place twice, once in summer and once in winter. The wintertime pipped it for me just because whilst it was a typical cold winters day with clear blue sky, jumping into the warm waters made it all the more special.

Komandoo - Maldives

The pictures speak for themselves on this one! This pool is small and intimate but it's more about the location and view for me. This really is paradise. Lounging by the pool or sipping cocktails for me felt like heaven as the infinity edge just blends in to the background of the crystal clear waters.

Kuredu, it's sister hotel about 20 mins away by boat, has an equally good pool but for some reason, the simplicity of this one wins me over.
